The New Yard, Willow Farm

Project Overview

We were selected to advocate for the construction of three large new agricultural buildings as part of the approved scheme for The New Yard at Willow Farm. The need to relocate the heart of the farm stemmed from the increased use of the indoor sand school by young riders, which clashed with the day-to-day operations of a commercial farm.

Challenges and Strategy

We collaborated with the farm to define a needs case justifying the application. An assessment was conducted to determine the optimal location for the new yard. This approach ensured that the new facilities would support both the agricultural operations and the activities of the riding school.

Outcome

The scheme, classified as a ‘Large Major Development,’ was successfully approved by Swale Borough Council.
