Transforming a 1930s Bungalow
Project Overview
The Chestfield Road project involved the renovation of a tired, rundown 1930s bungalow located within the Chestfield conservation area. The existing building required a full overhaul to make it more livable.
Challenges and Strategy
The client seized this opportunity to not only renovate the existing brick bungalow but also to add a large rear extension, re-plan the internal layout, and give the exterior a much-needed facelift. Urban & Rural secured full conservation area planning consent for the extension and remodeling.
Outcome
The proposed scheme transformed the existing two-bedroom dwelling into a spacious three-bedroom home. The new plan included an en-suite for the master bedroom and a large open-plan kitchen, dining, and family room that opens out to the rear garden.
