Large Residential Masterplan

Urban and Rural were appointed by one of the country’s leading residential developers to look at the expansion of an urban area.

The site is 10.2 hectares (25.2 acres) on agricultural land located on the edge of the M25 in the South East of England.

The scheme incorporates a mixture of housing of varying scales to deliver new family homes for both private open market housing and housing association.

The initial masterplan works hard to promote a site that has been designed with the feeling of openness. Landscaped areas were designed to then allow settlements to be formed around them.

This has provided a scheme with varying areas giving a different feel to individual streets, avenues, squares, lanes and landscaped spaces.

A large-scale masterplan was developed consisting of nearly 200 new homes, play spaces for varying age groups, as well as landscaped amenity spaces.
