Large Residential Masterplan
Expanding Agriculture Land into New Family Homes

Project Overview
One of the country’s leading residential developers appointed us to look at the expansion of an urban area. The site was 10.2 hectares (25.2 acres) on agricultural land located on the edge of the M25 in the South East of England. The scheme incorporated a mixture of housing of varying scales to deliver new family homes for both private open market housing and housing association.

Design
The initial masterplan had been designed to create a feeling of openness. Landscaped areas were designed to then allow settlements to be formed around them. This provided a scheme with varying areas which gave a unique feel to individual streets, avenues, squares, lanes and landscaped spaces.

Outcome
Nearly 200 new homes were part of a large-scale masterplan which included play spaces for varying age groups and landscaped amenity spaces.
