Urban and Rural Designed Retail Interiors Open to the Public in Two Town Centre Locations

Urban and Rural are pleased to have designed and overseen the compete refurbishment and re-branding or the Biggs Opticians in two key locations in Kent. Both the existing site in Deal and the new location in central Canterbury have been completely overhaled.

Urban and rural designed both the interior architecture and all the furniture and lighting to create a unified and contemporary look across both building helping to reinforce the businesses brand and create a sense of individuality setting Biggs opticians apart from its competitors. The building in Canterbury is grade 2 listed and Urban and rural secured listed building consent for the internal alterations required to covert the existing building into an optician. A particular highlight of the project was working with Moosejaw Woodworks in Whitstable who handcrafted all the custom-made furniture.

Biggs Opticians is an independent family business with three practices located in Deal, Dover and now Canterbury.
