Reynolds Farm Guest House
A Successful Rural Expansion

Project Overview
Reynolds Farm Guest House is a rural business situated on the south coast of England. We collaborated with the owners to build a compelling case for a new construction on an open-country site, outside any established built environment.

Design and Planning
The proposed architecture was inspired by Kentish barn conversions, resulting in a design that sympathetically addressed the brief. Canterbury City Council approved the scheme based on the comprehensive planning pack coordinated and produced by Urban & Rural. The success of this project, despite its controversial location, hinged on the detailed needs assessment we prepared, which demonstrated the necessity of expanding the guest house to ensure its financial sustainability.

Outcome
The scheme faced no objections during the consultation period, and Urban & Rural worked closely with the planning officer to secure full planning approval under delegated powers.
