North Sea Cottage
Preserving Heritage in Whitstable

Project Overview
North Sea Cottage is situated within the heavily protected Conservation Area of Whitstable, with a stunning view of the beach and the North Sea. This project exemplifies the diverse range of schemes we have undertaken.

Challenges and Strategy
The client sought conservation area planning consent to replace the deteriorating UPVC double-glazed windows, which had surpassed their life expectancy. We proposed to recreate the original sash windows, mirroring those found in many of the existing properties in the terrace. This required not only securing Conservation Area planning consent but also producing detailed large-scale joinery plans to obtain approval.

Outcome
We successfully obtained the necessary consents and detailed plans, ensuring that the new sash windows were both historically accurate and functional, preserving the charm and heritage of the cottage.
