Biggs Opticians is a long-established family run opticians in Deal.

Urban & Rural were appointed to provide a fully detailed interior design and carry out a full RIBA service from defining the project brief through to the completion of the finished scheme and the fast reopening of the commercial operations. In addition to providing a full architectural service, Urban & Rural also took on the role of the Principal Designer, carrying out the legal duties as set out under the 2015 CDM Health and Safety Act.

The project also dealt with the re-ordering of the clinical treatment rooms; including the OCT stands for Ocular Coherence Tomography, a sophisticated medical imaging technique that allows the eye to be examined in greater depth than ever before. This is a powerful diagnostic tool for investigating the health of the eye.

Urban & Rural saw the project through from the initial work shop session with the client; where Urban & Rural developed a detailed understanding of the day-to-day running of the optometrists, to the concept design, all the way through to the full detailed tender pack, including 3D renders and 1-to-1 technical shop, details produced for the specialist cabinet makers.
